The return of the Harness Players Newsletter and podcast was welcomed last week, and Dawn Lupul was a lot of fun for the pod (although I’m not sure she was prepared for all that is Ray Cotolo). Fraser was back with a decent handle and multis that paid fairly if you could connect. Huge news this past week with a friend of the network and a great guy, Gabe Prewitt, getting the VP job at Hoosier Park. Hoosier already has a solid product, and I know Gabe will take it to the next level. Several years ago, back in 2019, when the Pomp was in full swing, I reached out to Gabe, who I had only talked to via the internet, to see about coming to the Pomp while I was in Florida to participate in the broadcast. (These were the old NAHU days before any ITM involvement) Gabe met me early at the track, and we hung out and got to know each other. Did the pre-game show on TV (I had done some other TV, but this was still a big deal to me), and we discussed the card. I will never forget climbing the rafters to get to the announcer’s booth in the old building. I spent the entire card in the booth, just watching Gabe do his thing, setting post times, calling races, keeping track of pools, etc., and encouraging the #SendItIn Army to fire the Pomp. After the races, we hung out and had a beer like we had been friends for years. We have crossed paths plenty since then, and he isery time. I’m very happy to see him get the new gig, and I can’t wait to work with him in the future. Murray Slough - one of the best gamblers that HRT knows, hits the Harness Players Podcast this week. Big M Friday Race 6: Gonna take a swing with (5) HOWLINGATTHEMOON DK (6-1 ML). 4th start in USA after racing overseas. 1st start on big track after last 3 at YR. No shot from post 7 in last. 1st time Lasix. Faces easier. Good post draw.

Woodbine Mohawk Fri night. R6 #1 BETTERNOTMACHME. Crushed em Feb 21 last time at this level. Cullens are percolating. Should sit close and be on front by backstretch.

WESTERN FAIR FRIDAY... Race 6 #8 Anchor So Reel is back from the big track (WBS) - this angle has already worked for many this week. Coming from off the pace she'll get a huge shot at starting up the Late PICK 5 in London.

Friday Fraser race 4 #1 Key Dragon - faces easier here and gets the always sweet rail draw. Price might be inflated due break last time out which was actually an equipment woe. Phil G might work out a pocket journey.

Woodbine Mohawk Friday Race 3: #8 CALCITE produced the best mile of her life last week, kicking in 28-flat, and looking well-mannered while doing it. I think she gets going earlier this time and scores her maiden win.
