Players' Newsletter - March 10th, 2023
It’s 2023 NHC weekend beginning today and we at ITM have you covered, whether you’re observing or competing. Nick Tammaro was joined by 11 different guests in this year’s NHC Podcast. We also put together a schedule of all races eligible to be played during the NHC, which you can access here. If you find this helpful over the weekend, I highly encourage you to donate to a cause near and dear to our hearts, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
Other weekend action includes a Kentucky Derby prep, the Tampa Bay Derby, plus a pair of tough multi-race sequences at Aqueduct and Santa Anita. All of that is covered in today’s Players’ Podcast. Also covered this weekend is another Coast-to-Coast Pick 5. JK and I took a look at the Saturday races here.
Don’t forget to catch up on all of the great content from this week across the ITM Network. Make sure to check out the pair of can’t miss conversations with Sean Boarman, between JK + 1 and another episode of the Pro Players’ Diary. Finally, Off Track with Maggie Wolfendale made it’s return with an episode covering a fan favorite, Whitmore!

Off Track with Maggie Wolfendale - Whitmore & Laura Moquett
For seven racing seasons we watched the fiery, sometimes cantankerous, chestnut gelding named Whitmore blitz down the racetrack. We all cheered him on as he finally got his Breeder’s Cup win in his fourth try at the ripe age of seven. But did you know that when he came to the track as a two year old it took him nearly two months to be able to just canter around the track? He would likely have never gotten to all those winners circles without the horsemanship and guidance of Laura Moquett. Now she is guiding him through his second career off track.
The Owners’ Box - Episode 87 – Steve Moger
Billy and Michelle catch up with Stilleto Boy owner, Steve Moger, who just captured the 2023 Big Cap last weekend at Santa Anita.
Redboard Rewind - EP:183 Aqueduct Matt Vagvolgyi
Spencer and Matt go over three races from Saturday at the Big A (races 4-8-9). Some angles we talk about are how using an in and out form cycle idea would help you possibly use the winner in the Gotham, and how consistent types types in stakes can be best bets.
