ITM Watch List - July 13th, 2021
Hello and Welcome… to the ITM Horses To Watch List: a place where ITM Handicappers provide analysis on potential bet back horses from last week’s racing, all in one spot.
In addition, don’t miss the Saratoga and Del Mar Lifestyle Shows. If you’re excited about getting into the swing of the Summer meets, we have a variety of great guests to discuss what makes each of these towns so special.
To talk Saratoga, PTF is joined by JK, Kim Weir of the TRF, and Marcus Severin of The Brentwood Hotel to talk all things Saratoga.
Covering Del Mar, PTF has on Gary Fenton of Little Red Feather and the author of the popular Top 25 Things to Do in Del Mar blog.

WO 7/10/2021 #10 War Empress: ran far back (against pace), made wide move and ran a winning race. Eventual winner was 4-6 lengths ahead saving ground in 2 path when running began.
WO 7/10/2021 #6 Emmeline: hilariously the jockey thought this horse was a winner as was wrapped up final 1/16th, looked over shoulder and slowed down the rhythm of the horse. This one did all the dirty work on the front end performed well going the route and improved from 2 yo form
WO 7/10/2021 #7 Astrological: ran well and confidently ridden at top of stretch, should continue to improve. Would expect a maiden entry and should be an easy bet
WO 7/11/2021: #5 Del Griffith: stuck at gate, reared, horse wanted to rush up, threw head as they got in touch with pack first 200yds, then settled into back of pack, did some really good running late and all things considered. big upgrade for only second start
WO 7/11/2021: #2 Red River Rebel: I'm sure a very frustrating ride for Hernandez being stuck on the rail having to essentially check the entire race stalking the eventual winner until the top of the stretch, gave up at 1/8th pole. Much more left.
WO 7/11/2021: #4 Malibu Secret: robbed as jockey just wouldn’t go on with it in the early stages. Strangled the horse the first 1/8th and gave up position of the rail. Trying closing into leader with easy fractions and traveling wide. Would bet again.
WO 7/11/2021: #7 Magical Man: Travelled widest of all stalking and made the move to break apart the race. The jockey wrapped this one up at the 1/8th pole and still only lost touch with the field by about a length or so. Great move

Monmouth Park 7/10/21 Race 6: #7 Fall Campaign debuted in a competitive $25K maiden claiming race for two year old fillies going 5 and ½ Furlongs. She broke well, sitting just off the front runners on the outside. Going into the turn, another horse ranged up on her outside, creating some traffic issues for her. She fought on gamely to finish 4th, beaten three lengths in what seemed like a useful debut for this daughter of freshman sire, Brody’s Cause.
Monmouth Park 7/10/21 Race 7: #2 Syracusia debuted with a rail draw in a maiden special weight that was taken off the turf and run on the main track. She dueled with another filly on the front end, before fading in the final furlong. I think she has the pedigree and the connections to succeed on the grass and I’m looking for a better effort in her next try if she gets to go on the turf.
Monmouth Park 7/11/21 Race 5: #11 Ninja Dust moved into $16K N4L claiming company on the grass after clearing the N3L condition last out. He has been in good form of late, which is useful at this level of competition. He lost some ground early, falling to the back of the pack while trying to save ground from his outside draw. He was chasing a loose leader on the front end, who seemed to relish the softer going. He rallied widest of all and was finishing with interest to get third. This race shows up in the condition book in two weeks again (and may get pushed back a week or two due to the amount of races that have been taken off the turf in the last few weeks). I think he’ll be a player at this level.
