This article was written to play devil's advocate for shorter-priced horses that I see as either bad value or vulnerable. I would not auto-toss any of the runners mentioned if you love them. Many can still win, but their odds do not reflect their true probability of winning. I’ve also identified a few alternatives that are likely to represent value come post-time. Remember that Del Mar is a goofy track and likely to play differently than we saw in the summer. Keep an open mind, take stands, and find value.
