Friday Vertical Wagering Strategy - Nick Tammaro
The Breeders’ Cup is here and the wagering opportunities abound! This year’s slate of championship races fails to disappoint as one large field after another has been assembled.
These races provide unique opportunities we see on rare occasions at best. In this space I will cover some of my opinions and wagering strategies designed to capitalize on those. Good luck!
RACE 6 (Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint)
One of the more interesting decisions made by connections prior to the draw on Monday was the re-routing of Oxymore to this race. He had been cross-entered in the Juvenile Turf, and that was the chosen spot at pre-entry time. It made sense given his recent try in the Nownownow at Monmouth. This is a FAR more winnable spot for the Chad Brown trainee who has the speed to stay within range early, but showed last time out he can rate. That is crucial here given the way this race figures to unfold on paper. It is loaded with speed, and that should certainly set up the late bid of horses like Oxymore.
