Fresh off some solid opinions on Saturday, along with a winner at Aqueduct, I’m feeling good on this Superb Owl Sunday. Got up at 5am and got the smoker going –an eight-pound brisket is on there now. Let’s take a crack at this $53,000+ Pick Six carryover at Santa Anita to see if we can keep the good times rollin’.
Race 4
I’ll try to get through the first leg with two runners.
#5 SUNGLASSES has an obvious look based on the back numbers and her speed. This is a significant drop in glass for her second start off the layoff.
#7 GRAY FROST is in form and fits well at the level. Another who should be forward in a race where there doesn’t appear to be all that much pace signed on.
Race 5
Will H and I covered this on a free show you can check out here.
#1 CANANI won the battle but lost the war last time, part of a three-horse tussle for the lead where he proved best of speedbefore getting run down by closers. He’s well drawn here and should get a positive journey, plus the turnback in distance may help him pull out more in the finish
#2 JUST A GRAZE looks an improving type for Mike Puype, whose barn is going well.
