There’s a first time for everything, and for me this is the first time I am compiling my own personal Kentucky Derby Top 10 list for your consideration. It’s obviously way too early to take this type of exercise too seriously but I thought it would be fun to dig into the form and videos and present some analysis.

#10 Gaming – Baffert/I. Ortiz

Looked like he was going to make it a perfect three-for-three and a championship when he ranged up in the Juvenile. He fell away tamely there but still possesses a body of work that will put him on all manner of Derby lists, especially given the hands he’s in. For me, he really was supposed to win with that trip in the Juvy and I’m suspicious of that form but it seems silly to exclude a Grade 1 winner who has run a 95 fig.
