Race 7 - Ogden Phipps
I’m with #5 IDIOMATIC to confirm the form of the BC Distaff over Randomized and the rest. She made a successful comeback in the La Troienne and I think she’ll move forward off of that, especially as her workouts have gotten progressively better – the fast five under a minute last time suggests she might be ready to get back to her best. If she does, the others are running for second.
Race 8 - Woody Stephens

#1 BOOK’EM DANNO ran an absolutely huge race in the Saudi Derby, giving Forever Young, who came back to frank (underline the quality of) the form in both Dubai and in the Kentucky Derby. I’d estimate that speed figure from Danno to be around 100, making him arguably the fastest horse in the race. That was back in February so I think it’s possible he might be able to improve on that. I can also see him securing a really good trip, getting a mid-pack sit, moving up gradually and attacking leaders who may end up dueling, setting this up for a closer.

There’s an alternate scenario where #8 VLAHOS just blows them away on the front end. His race in the Pat Day Mile was excellent – TFUS upgraded his final performance figure seven points for being up on that pace. The winner came back to win the Preakness, and this cutback looks like just what the doctor ordered. He’s shown brilliant speed but lacked closing speed – the turnback to seven might really him pull more out of the finish.
