Race 1
#9 Atomic Drop had some positive angles for me, starting with his potential pace edge. TFUS had both his last two runs being on tracks that were favoring closers and that might have taken the sting out of his finish.
Stretches back out here and he’s run some solid races at a mile, 5 of 8 times in the money.
Mark Glatt has a very strong record off the claim at DMR with 30% winners and a big $2.54 ROI on a $2 bet.
#6 Supermazel and #7 Taishan to go with him. Hoping he burns off any other speed and they come running to fill out the exotics.
Atomic Drop – not just for Bob Backlund fans.
Race 2
#6 Dr Ruben M a little interesting – that was a pretty quick debut effort where he just lost to a stablemate. He was bet hard for that, suggesting they thought he had ability going in and has a good looking worktab since
#4 Getaway Car is super obvious off the 700k price tag. 5 furlongs can be a little sharp for Curlin babies – AWD w FTS is 6.8 furlongs.
#3 Rank is another one I’m interested in following. First year sire Honor AP off to a decent start w FTS, dam has produced 7 winners from 8 starters. However none of the 7 winners won on debut. A horse that should improve with his racing. Been working well in company with the top pick.
Race 3
A live price to consider
#6 Please Focus looks like the kind of horse who might be better going the flying five. That was a career best effort two back for the new conditioner and in the last run I thought he ran OK as well but just looked like he needed the turnback in distance he’ll get here. A good, positive trip should be in order. He’ll be tested for class but the price will reflect that.
#4 Nesso’s Last Hurrah and #12 Ammer Hall obvious faves to maybe try and keep on side
