Good start for the wraparound Pick Four yesterday with a 7-1 winner in leg one but with these things, of course, it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish so we’ll see if we can deliver the goods today on that wager.

The first part of this piece will go out to our whole list so this is a good place for me to put in a plug. We’ll have a lot of extra content for Plus subs this weekend include the ever-popular Grid

Picks from the team as well as extra articles and shows. Also, as always, you’ll get emails with rundowns of the picks from the free shows. It’s a great value at $50/month and even better if you just bite the bullet and sign up for the whole year because that includes, at no added cost, all our extra summer meets, BC, and next year’s Kentucky Derby package.

Today I’ll dive into this Pick 6 carryover with a few thoughts. Make sure you check out Nick Tammaro’s FREE analysis as well, brought to you by the New York Thoroughbred Breeders.

Race 5

#5 NONNA LYNNE has the look of an improver based on her first outing. She made a mess of the start and looked to be figuring things out as the race as being run. Sire Slumber has solid numbers with second-time runners (limited sample but still).

#9 TRALEE GIRL looks obvious enough off that good figure fourth against boys last fall and #10 HEAVENLY GIRL, while not exciting, makes sense off her “knocking at the door”-type efforts.

Race 6

#8 VELVET VORTEX looks a standout to me as she looks like lone speed and has that big debut number to run back to. I don’t have any big excuse for the allowance flop but some horses don’t like that type of “ask and grab” trip she got. Maybe they just send this time and try to run efficiently from there.

I might play one back-up line with #4 LIMES DON’T LIE. The last race was slow, but that will also contribute to the price, and it has produced a next-out winner who won with an 80 figure. She’s also shown the ability to pass horses and that might come in handy if the fav blows up.
