In case you missed the news earlier this week, we are back with another contest tour in association with Breeders’ Cup and HorsePlayers.com.
The old branding (Horseplayer Happy Hour) is gone. We aren’t doing regular live streams this year. Instead, we are now the In The Money Horseplayers Tour.
Games are every Friday and only $20 to play. The house cut once again goes to thoroughbred aftercare (Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga).
That Friday entry (you can buy up to three each week) gets you into a regular horseplayers.com feeder for a Saturday $189 qualifier. The top four finishers in the Friday games will automatically advance to our playoffs. We are getting rid of the tour points concept and just keeping things super simple.
One other new wrinkle: you can win up to three playoff seats throughout the regular season but only one in a given week.
The playoffs will begin October 3 and we will once again have a series of cut lines to winnow down to a final table of 10 players. The overall winner gets a $10,000 BCBC seat at no additional cost.
Get involved today! More contest information is available below.
And of course, we here at ITM have plenty of content focused on these contest races to hopefully help in your endeavor to win that BCBC seat! (All of this content can be found further below in the newsletter, too.)
JK and I did a show covering the last six races on today’s card that you can find here.
I also did horse-by-horse writeups of the New York Stakes and Belmont Gold Cup for our friends at At the Races.
Nick Tammaro is back over on the website covering today’s full card courtesy of the New York Thoroughbred Breeders.
Speaking of contests, a friend of mine and the network, John Gaspar, is doing a series of interviews with contest players for us. In the latest episode he sits down with former Tour champion – and future Hall of Famer – Kevin Costello.
And don’t think that this is replacing the regular weekly Players’ Newsletter. That will still arrive to your inboxes weekly as we have done for years now. Of course, make sure you are subscribed so you don’t miss either the new Horseplayer Tour Newsletter or the weekly Players’ Newsletter.

HorsePlayers - Winning Starts Here
HorsePlayers, a partnership between the Breeders' Cup and National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), is the Official Online Qualifying Site of the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC) and the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC). The site is powered by HorseTourneys, a leading online contest site.
Players with an existing HorseTourneys account do not need to create a new account on HorsePlayers. Simply login with your HorseTourneys information on HorsePlayers and you will have access to your account. Similarly, if you sign up on HorsePlayers you’ll be able to use your HorsePlayers account to play on the HorseTourneys website.
PTF, no tour point leaderboard with winner getting a seat this year? I assume no, since top 4 are now getting playoff entry versus 2 in the past. Thank you in advance. I was hoping to seek my revenge just missing tour win last year ;)
