Happy Fourth of July!
I always enjoy the irony of being in England for this holiday. I tried to fool Perrin this morning with the old trick question, "Do they have the fourth of July in other countries?" but she didn't fall for it.
"They have the day, but not the holiday."
She's a wiseguy (wisegal?) in the making. We did celebrate in our own way by going to see the UK production of Hamiltion last night, which I would call the equal of its Broadway progenitor.
In ITM terms, we are celebrating American Independence with the latest HorsePlayers Happy Hour (full card Belmont at Aqueduct) and I heartily encourage you to participate, both by playing via this link and also tuning in to watch. The game starts at 1:05 ET and JK and I will be live from 4-5:30 ET (watch on our Youtube/Socials or Breeders' Cup Youtube/Socials).
We have several special guests signed up including Matt Miller, who will give us a recap of the Hawthorne Invitational Contest, and Vanessa Ryle, who will give her views on the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks (with three Euro shippers). I will also no doubt give her a hard time about her country's form in wars against us (gives a whole new meaning to Dos a Cero).
As you probably know by now, HorsePlayers Happy Hour is one of the best -- if not the outright best -- ways to qualify for the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge. With three ways to win, $20,000 added to the pot at no cost to players, and the house cut going to equine aftercare, you simply have to check it out.
