Volume 5 of the Harness Players Newsletter lands with a stellar week in the books. The return of the Grand Circuit with The Matchmaker Series kicking off Friday at Yonkers with Lit De Rose topping Dilitfulcatherin by an inch with Mikala in third in the opening leg. Tony’s Mom was another winner over a pumped up Treacherous Penny in the second series race of the night. The third and final race was another hair splitting photo between Incaseyoudidntknow and Intothemysticmoon. Give a look to Avf Claire in that last race on the return, she didn’t have much of a chance with the race shape. Monday brought four divisions of the Borgata for the older pacers with some familiar names coming to the winners circle. Desperate Man looked to toy with the first division despite the layoff. He has always had talent, had a big win at three over Bulldog Hanover. But this could be the year he is the boss of the older division. Rocknroll Runa got the drive of the night with a perfect trip pocket ride to win when defending champ Hellabalou decided he was tired. The longest shot on the board was second What’s Stanley Got. Vets Covered Bridge and This is the Plan dominated the third division with ‘Bridge converting at 0.25-1. Linedrive Hanover won the last division stalking a fast clip then rolling at the perfect time. Another that has shown flashes of brilliance, let see what this year brings. Both series are long and a series like this lends itself to ups and downs for most of the participants, but the points structure doesn’t allow for missing many weeks or checks if a horse wants to make the high priced final. Recap and preview for round 2 this week on the Harness Players Podcast. Handle on the 4 legs was decent with 267k totaled on the four races after only 34k bet on the first division.
Speaking of the Harness Players Podcast I had a fantastic interview with Heather CHANG, yes I misspoke when introducing her on the pod (Sorry again Heather) about her involvement with testable.ca. Heather has been with thestable.ca for 7 years and she’s experienced the highs and lows of the business. She couldn’t have been complimentary about the Team the Stable has and the faith her and her husband have in Anthony Macdonald. She talks about her time at the barn with the horse, her husband and his involvement, and the overall experience with the stables constant communications. Obviously her experiences have her recommending involvement with the stable to anyone that may be interested in getting involved in fractional ownership. Check out the upcoming webinars scheduled for the Stable.
The Meadows finished up their late closers this week and have been more active on social media with picks. Pick 7 has proven difficult so far, the carryover needs to get to a point where more people become interested.
How about Fraser Downs??? Handle is blazing and we are back this week for another podcast and some more analysis on nahupicks.com. I have a feeling more Fraser pods are coming to ITM airwaves.
Enjoy the week. Still no clever Acronym PTF…..
