In the Money Harness Players Newsletter
Greetings horse racing fans and gamblers!
Over the last few years, In The Money Media has worked to become an all-inclusive hub for horse racing content with a swath of coverage for thoroughbred racing and increasing coverage for harness racing.
And so we at In The Money Media are continuing to grow our harness racing content with the Harness Players’ Newsletter, a spiritual cousin to In The Money’s Players’ Newsletter. The Harness Players’ Newsletter, sponsored by fractional standardbred ownership group TheStable.ca, will highlight specialized harness racing content from In The Money Media including our roundtable shows, podcasts and other things related to gambling on harness racing.

Upcoming Races for The Stable Horses
Testimonial from DRF.com/harness Mohawk Handicapper Garnet Barnsdale
-The Stable's #Ownalittleloveitalot motto really says it all. They have made owning a piece of a racehorse easy and more importantly, enjoyable. No matter what percentage you own, you get the same access to barn visits, frequent video updates, group activities at the track and feedback about your horses and their performances and progress.
It's simple to buy and sell your shares on the website which is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I have been with The Stable as an owner pretty much from the start and have enjoyed the experience. No matter what percentage of a horse you buy and own, you get the same thrill watching them race and win. Fractional ownership allows anyone to get into racehorse ownership and in my opinion, no one does it better than The Stable.

Harness Players Podcast - 2024 Dan Patch Awards Roundtable
2024 Dan Patch Awards are Sunday, February 25th!
The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) and the Hambletonian Society are proud to partner together to sponsor a special In The Money Media Roundtable to discuss the upcoming Dan Patch Awards. The 2024 Dan Patch Awards, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment, will see the 12 divisional winners honored on the equine side, plus a live announcement and presentation of the Trotter of The Year and Pacer of the Year, culminating with the announcement of the E. Roland Harriman Harness Horse of the Year. There are also numerous awards to be given out on the human side, including the prestigious Stan Bergstein Proximity Award, presented to an individual, group, organization, or even a horse for outstanding contributions to harness racing. The special Roundtable is hosted by Edison Hatter of In The Money Media (who is a member of the Delaware Valley USHWA Chapter). Edison will be joined by several other USHWA Award Voters: Barry Lefkowitz (USHWA President), Michael Carter (USHWA First Vice President), Derick Giwner (USHWA New York City Chapter member), and Garnet Barnsdale (USHWA Canadian Chapter member). The panel will discuss the 2024 Dan Patch Equine Awards and discuss the choices they each made as voters.
Please Note:
The Dan Patch awards ceremony gets underway at 6:30 p.m. this Sunday, February 25th and will be available to view via the USHWA Facebook page. At approximately 9:30 p.m., emcees Roger Huston, Jason Settlemoir, and Dave Little will announce the winner of the E. Roland Harriman Horse of the Year trophy, which follows the revealing of the names of the Trotter of the Year and Pacer of the Year.
SPOT PLAYS FOR THE WEEKEND OF 2/23-2/25
Friday Meadowlands Race 9
(3) Briar’s Desire- hasn’t had a chance to race in last couple. New pilot will have him in play against a suspect field
~Rod Allums, Jr
Saturday Race 9 Woodbine Mohawk
(6) SOARING NOW - shipped in to Ontario last week where he made his first start in over a month. The son of JK Endofanera finished 7th but definitely needed that start, as he paced a very strong final quarter in 26.2. He’s eligible for the New Holland Series coming up in the near future at Mohawk and should use this time to get acclimated to the racetrack/competition. His main threat this evening will be Taurasi, who has won five straight at the Preferred level, but is also coming off three weeks of rest. I’m hoping he can sit a two-hole to Taurasi and pick him off late! He will be the second choice in this contest.
~John Rallis
Saturday Race 10 Woodbine Mohawk
-4 HP Momentum- Gets best spot in awhile, adds lasix and Filion looking to unleash his big kick (5-1 ML)
~Mike Pribozie
Saturday, February 24 Race 11 @ Meadowlands
#1 American Dealer N got a conservative drive in what was his first race since November. This classy seven year old lacked clear room in the stretch but still paced home strong. He should be better tonight assuming the trip is cleaner.
